Simon Cowell has revealed his latest TV project in the form of something that could be called DJ Idol. The X Factor mastermind is looking to build on the success of American Idol an The X Factor with a search for the world’s best DJ via a talent contest format. A statement by the SYCO boss said, “DJ's are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show," According to the statement, the show will be co produced by record label Sony, and Will Smith’s entertainment company Overbrook Entertainment. The show has been in development for over a year, and reports suggest that Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith will be involved in the show in relation to Overbrook. An announcement over who will broadcast the shows in the UK and US will be made soon.
